Hey Shortie

Sweater: JCrew, Shorts: JCrew, Jacket: Gap, Bangle: Alexis Bittar, Sunglasses: Joe Fresh, Flats: JCrew, Earrings: Banana Republic

I just can’t stay away from stripes, and from the past few posts , it seems I also have an issue with brights. And looky here, I paired both stripes and brights together for work the other day (yes, I can wear shorts to work, yes be jealous).

This sweater has been the best all-time buy from J.Crew. It’s season-less style goes with everything from beat-up jeans to fluoro coral shorts. It’s that one piece that I always turn too when I have less than 10 minutes to get ready— the stripes are kind of a distraction technique for for messy hair and wrinkled jeans. You heard it here first.

Stripes: The New Neutral

How about I just rename this blog “Stripes”—seriously I just realized how often I wear them. Some people can’t live without good wine, chocolate or amazing meals,  but me? I prefer stripes and shoes. Whatever we all have our vices.

Jacket: Zara (bought in Panama), Shirt: Anthropologie, Cardigan: Gap, Cropped Pants: Gap, Shoes: J.Crew, Necklace: Antique Chinese Turquoise at Rubaiyat, Lucite Ring: Alexis Bittar at Rubaiyat

Psssst Happy Spring!

Blue Times Two

Jeans: Gap, Shirt: Anthropologie, Denim Shirt: Aritzia, Clutch: Plum, Shoes: J.Crew, Necklaces: Pyrrha and Jeanine Payer from Rubaiyat, Earrings: Type B Sunglasses: Joe, Summer 2010

Recognize the shirt? I know, I know it has stripes…I can’t help it. I don’t normally mix denim with denim, it reminds me too much of the early 2000s when the all-denim look was all the rage (thanks Britney and Justin) however when I threw on this denim shirt it seemed to pull together a look perfect for a casual Saturday.

Note the bright pink lipstick.  I might look like I am owning it but this is way outside the comfort zone.  Considering my next purchase is going to be  poppy red pants I’d better get comfy with bright colours real fast.

Fall in Paris

Cropped pants: Gap, Flats: J.Crew, Blouse: J.Crew, Striped T: Gap (this is on sale in stores!) Bag: Dooney & Bourke, Necklace: Jeanine Payer from Rubaiyat

Ok, it’s not Paris but in my vivid imagination of what Paris is like, stripes, cropped pants and ballet flats would be my Parisian uniform. I would also ride an adorable Vespa, drink wine every night and wear the perfect shade of red lipstick. I’ve yet to find a red lipstick that works for me, suggestions sil vous plait?
