Sometimes you just can’t go wrong with a t-shirt and jeans. Even if the shirt happens to be a little lacy and the jeans aged with years of wear.
I tend to opt for simple when it comes to my personal style. I prefer to add touches of colour or interest through accessories and twists on everyday basics., like this lace blouse from Aritzia. It’s already turning out to be a fave piece as it very simple but not boring. Details, like the scalloped hem, add texture to a classic look. Even better (and considering where it’s from, somewhat amazing), it’s affordable.

Shirt: Aritzia, Jeans: Gap (similar), Scarf: Gap, Bag: Dooney & Bourke, Boots: bought in Argentina, Earrings: Haida Eagle Wings from the Rubaiyat
I actually wore this about a week ago. Someone at work that day mentioned that I looked very “equestrian”. Sadly, I don’t have a horse.
My earrings were a gift from my best best buddy and his wife. I was an “ushess” (my term for female usher) with two of his other best friends at their wedding this past August. It was later admitted that I was actually supposed to be more of an “usher wrangler” and keep the two ushers in line since they are known to be rather mischievous. It seems fitting that I would wear my “usher wrangler” gift with a semi-equestrian look. Either way, I adore these earrings…and the lovely couple who gave them to me.
