Shake your Bootie

Dress: Banana Republic, Tights: Loft, Booties: Steve Madden, Necklace: Pyrrha Clutch: Gap (circa 2001) Ring: Paola Hernandez

I have turned a corner on booties (not the one behind you) the short boot that has become the “it” shoe. Ankle booties have come and gone and for years I hated them, but lo and behold on their latest return trip I’ve changed my anti-ankle boot ways and become a fan (and learned a very good lesson about saying “I’ll never wear those!”).

I should have taken a better picture of my ring but this is one of my all-time favourite pieces of jewellery. I bought it Mexico City, one of my favourite stops on our driving trip to Argentina, from a wonderful friend of ours who was working for the designer at the time. I used to wear different rings all the time but these days I usually only wear my wedding bands plus my engagement ring, which sits on my right hand, long story but basically it means I don’t switch rings very often but when I do it is always to wear this one.

Side note: Check out that hair. Real beachy waves. I have been testing a new curling iron that comes with a protective glove to protect your hand! The risk of burning might be worth curls like this. (I’ll be covering the curling iron for Vitamin Daily so stay tuned!)

  1. I’m still in the “no” category with the booties…maybe one day.

Speaking of Banana Republic (since your dress is from there and I have been known to shop there…a lot). This may sound catty, I’m not sure, one of the models on their site right now drives me CRAZY. She’s all over the website modelling clothes that I really should like but I’m getting distracted by the face she is making.

  2. Love those booties…I am with you, it took me awhile to get into them, but now I will never go back, they are the perfect size and can go with jeans, skirts, dresses, whatever, it’s perfect. The pop of color in your clutch is lovely against the black outfit, and your curls look so pretty!
